Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • In this course, instructors observe and provide feedback as students practice BLS skills using the research-proven “Practice While Watching” (PWW) method, emphasizing high-quality CPR, use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), airway obstruction relief techniques for choking adults, children, and infants.
  • All students will be issued a BLS Provider Manual (student workbook) to be read BEFORE attending the course. (Higher passing rate if the material given is reviewed and studied before the scheduled course date.)
  • Complete the adult, child, and infant CPR/AED skills practice and testing with a score of at least 84% on the written exam.
  • Students will receive a BLS provider certification card the same day upon completion. The certification is valid for 2 years.
